Drop Spindle for Beginners (Ages 16+) In-Person
Drop Spindle for Beginners (Ages 16+)–Saturdays September 13 & 27 (2-4 pm)
Learn how to spin your own fiber into yarn using a drop spindle. Drop spindles are suspended spindles that use momentum to help twist fibers such as wool into workable thread or yarn. In this two-part beginner class offered by Log Cabin Fiber Arts, learn how to understand the mechanics of a drop spindle, prepare wool roving for spinning, and practice drafting and spinning techniques. Registration is required! We will have a limited number of kits available that include a drop spindle and wool fiber. If you already have a drop spindle and fiber, please indicate so on the registration. Find us upstairs in the Nelson Room.
This event is intended for patrons ages 16 and older and the content is designed for an audience of that age.
